CODE OF ETHICS TO CURB MALPRACTICES AND PLAGIARISM


The institution has a stated Code of Ethics to check malpractices and plagiarism in Research

Introduction:
Code of ethics for research is a guideline to avoid malpractice and duplication in the research work.br>
Researchers must,

* Obtain relevant consents, approvals and shall maintain evidence of such approvals;

* Provide relevant information about their research including proposal, primary and secondary data, periodical progress reports as required; and

* Notify the same to research supervisor and research committee as per the ethical standards.

Research Supervisor:

* A research supervisor will be responsible for providing proper guidance to the students on all matters of research including areas of improvements and inform the research committee with proper documents.

* A research supervisor can verify and validate the research data and other relevant information regarding the research work with due supervisory responsibilities and ensuring compliance with the policies and procedures.

* The supervisor must inform the student about the need to maintain confidentiality ofresearch data.

Misconduct or fraud in research may include the following:

* Fabrication of data: making up of data (student/scholar doing research work need to produce the authorization letter or permission letter granted by the research agency)

* falsification of data, including changing records;(all primary data collected by the students/scholars need to be submitted for verification at any point of time)

* plagiarism, including copying of textual material as such, the use of information from other researchers without proper citation and referencing; (checking of authenticity of research content by free online open source for plagiarism check)

* Negligence, or failure to uphold commonly accepted standards in the conduct of research.

* other practices that seriously violate the rules of the research policy either intentionally or caused by negligence;

Reporting and Action on Misconduct or Fraudulent

* In the case of any misconduct or fraudulent practice in research, the research committee shall conduct the enquiryand settle the issue with stringent action.
