CENTRE FOR LOCAL BODIES
The constitutional amendment paved the way for growth of panchayat raj institutions  in rural India.  The changing status of panchayats faced   numerous challenges as the devolution of power from top started percolating to the bottom line administration.  In order to meet the challenges, the panchayat raj institutions required more training and empirical research.   The centre for local bodies is established to cater to their needs.
